While looking at pictures of my car I decided to take the old purple (faded) tint off.  I search online for anything that could direct me on how to do this but it didn’t say how long it would take.

I thought I would give it a try and after peeling a little bit off the rear drivers side window, I decided I would have to finish the job.  I got a razor blade and started to peel the tint off but I didn’t work like the instructions said.  Instead of coming of in a few piece, I had close to a hundred for each window.

After 3 hours of taking the tint off,  I then discovered the glue was still on there.  It took many more hours and some hurting fingers (from holding the razor blade, no I didn’t touch the sharp side but I didn’t have a handle either) to get the glue off.  It really wasn’t worth all the time but I had nothing else to do and it looks nice now.

After tint was removed

A caught a cold case of the radiator blues yesterday afternoon.  I was on my way to the local drag strip, to watch of course, in my 96 M3 with 110k miles on the odometer.  All was great until some sort of fluid splashed on to my windshield; I was almost certain that is was coolant.

Right after this happened I pushed the clutch in and the RPMs on my engine started to drop and eventually caused my engine to die.  I was able to coast into a parking lot and evaluate the damage.  My first thought was that I was going to need a new radiator as BMW put in their famous plastic necked radiator that only lasts 80k miles or so.

To my surprise the radiator looked fine and the culprit was the upper radiator hose, which had a large three inch hole in the top.  To make a long story short I was able to temporarily use the radiator hose off my other 3 series before hitting up the dealer today for a replacement hose and some more coolant and distilled water.
